The Artist
I have closely followed the work of Stoyan Tchoukanov since his first public appearance.
He is a young ambitious artist, who has succeeded in developing a respectful creative
biography in just a few years.
The ambition of Tchoukanov is successfully supported by unquestionable talent and much
self exigency. Thus, the young artist has built a personal artistic expression in a short period
of time and an individual style of his own.
Tchoukanov is closely related in his imagery decision to a softened, original and poetic
version of abstraction, but behind the apparent lack of figurativeness the spectator almost
always finds the serious and thoughtful contact with nature.
Tchouki, (the artist), does not limit his range of means of expression. He equally works oil
painting, water color, lithography and etching. He produces a variety of monumental works
as well. The artist quite naturally achieves the tasks in different genres to obtain the specific
matters and characteristics of the materials in his works and combined with his level of
perfection and self demand of excellence, he has successfully earned his position as a
respected professional with the keen sensitivity of the modern artist.
